Born-and-raised in India with a passion and a dream to become a doctor, Im proud to be a diabetologist and pioneer of both lifestyle and integrative medicine. With my extensive growth in this domain in multiple settings, I have the first-hand experience in noticing the huge gap and challenges that exist today in our healthcare system both from a physician and patients standpoint.
My parents and husband have been my most robust inspirational support in every step of my life. From a Diabetes fellowship to choosing a path of lifestyle and integrative medicine, the inspiration is a complexity of cancer diagnosis. When cancer diagnosis affected two family members at a very young age, it touched the cords of my overwhelming emotions and feeling of helplessness.

When cancer diagnosis affected two family members at a very young age, it touched the cords of my overwhelming emotions and feeling of helplessness. Cancer is a diagnosis that is still an unknown theory of the human body. It is a feeling of intense fear and insecurity, and today, every person who has any kind of minor illness is researching google looking for reassurance that it is not cancer.
Foremost step in rejuvenating your health is self-gratitude and reward to yourself. You look at a peak of a mountain and turn back thinking that it is out of reach. What if I fall or fail? Can I even start? Your mind say you cannot do it, but your heart say Yes, you can. Most of the time mind wins and you do not persevere. Perseverance and commitment are the most powerful words when it comes to treating reversible disease like obesity and diabetes. Through my extensive experience, trust me and hold my hand as we are in this together to make a difference. I can help you build a life that you truly love and deserve. A life that is brilliantly tailored for your needs and tap into the most profound wisdom within you.

Diabetologist
Dr. Shagun Bindlish joined me as one of my very first podcast interviews for Today's Leaders in Mental Health and Diabetes. She seems to have a natural talent for talking about the complexities of obesity, while building up the patient and/or professional she is helping. For example and in addition to listeners stating her interview was helpful to their better understanding of diabetes and obesity, she was willing to jump back on a call with me to offer insight and information for a subject matter where I needed better clarity.. So I wholeheartedly challenge anyone who is looking for an expert with down to earth delivery of in depth information about diabetes and obesity - contact Dr Shagun

One of the common questions people ask me is what made you choose your career in medicine in a foreign land? Growing in a conservative middle-class family, I always wanted to create my own identity and chose a path that gave me space and helped me explore myself. I started my career in medicine at age 16 in a foreign land, Yerevan, Armenia. Doing medical training in a completely new culture and language was challenging but an incredible experience. The two most important lessons of life that I learned from being in a world was how to build self-confidence and to be resilient in any stressful and difficult situations. Even after completing my medical training, I remain insatiably curious about human life, which is a combination of associated risk factors, increasing fads about diets, mental health, and many more challenges. One of the common diseases correlated to multiple other health issues is Diabetes that impacts people of all age groups. To dig deeper into the condition, I pursued fellowship training in Diabetes. Since then, the journey has been phenomenal.
